Expanding astronomy education and research possibilities in India

Jayant talks about how astronomy education and research can be broadened in India based on his 20 years of experience of being at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics.
Dr. Jayant Murthy is a Senior Professor at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA). Prior to joining IIA he received his PhD in Physics from the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA and later joined as a Research Scientist in the same. His research revolves in Space missions starting with a payload on the Space Shuttle (TAUVEX and UVIT missions), Interstellar dust and Diffuse radiation field studies, SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) project and many more. It is worthy to mention that Dr. Jayant is one of those prominent scientists of the country who is popularizing science amongst the common folks for its deep and better understandings.
