Foundations of the Chinese space program and its current capabilities
There is very little understanding of the Chinese space capabilities in India. Prof. Chandra who has been one of the experts on space-related activities has studied Chinese space activities and its spread in recent years. He an excellent insight into the origins of the Chinese space program (in contrast with the Indian one) and its current capacity and the capabilities. This episode sets a foundation for understanding the emergence of NewSpace in China.
Prof. Chandrashekar is was a Professor in the Corporate Strategy and Policy Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). Prior to his joining IIMB, he spent more than 20 years working at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). His work at ISRO covered all parts of the programme - satellite, rockets as well as the applications of space technology, especially remote sensing.
